Idaho Al-Anon/Alateen

District 3 Literature Center

What's Changing?

A Message from the Board

The Literature Center Board recently met to discuss transforming our business model to better serve our fellowship. Together, we are considering the following areas:

Aligning Governance: Addressing structural and legal inconsistencies within our corporate framework.

Balancing Relationships: Harmonizing the legal and spiritual  relationship between the AAISC Corporation and District 3, using  our Concepts of Service as a guide.

Managing Costs: Acting as responsible trusted servants to  effectively manage and reduce operational costs.

Ensuring Financial Stewardship: Reviewing our financial assets to  establish an appropriate Prudent Reserve that directly supports the  fellowship.

Adapting to Change: Recognizing the massive shifts in digital  purchasing methods and communication that have occurred since  1986.

Our Objective: To ensure that the vital benefits currently provided  by the AAISC are accommodated in any future model.

Next Steps: We are officially moving into the phase of collecting,  researching, and analyzing viable alternative models.

Our Request: We ask that your groups maintain their current  support as we carefully conduct this collaborative review.

Our Guiding Principle: Approaching this journey with a “Beginner’s  Mind.” As the saying goes: “In the beginner’s mind there are many  possibilities, but in the expert’s mind there are few.”
